STATION ORNITHOLOGICAL THE PAST
A Miragolo S. Marco Zogno, in La Pass, exists from 1995 a station ringing birds for scientific purposes: the birds are caught in nets very thin, then ringed, measured and immediately released. The collected data are used to study the migration strategies, as well as the health of the birds during their shifts. So far were ringed over 100.000 birds belonging to well 111 different species!
In addition to the scientific reasons, a visit to the Past is memorable for all the spectacular views that can be enjoyed at any time of the day, especially at dawn and dusk: on a clear day you can see even the Monte Rosa and Monviso.
And if you are not satisfied yet, there is the "market" where between new and used you can browse prints, books, copper objects and ornithological theme ... and more!
Possibility of visits by appointment to see the various phases of capture and ringing.
